Role description

As an AI Engineer, you'll build the core intelligence behind the Muir platform: the models, data, and orchestration that figure out how a product is made, what it costs, and what it emits - often more precisely than its own manufacturer knows. You'll work across the full lifecycle, from raw messy data to production, with broad ownership on a small team.

You'll have the kind of end-to-end ownership only possible in an early stage startup - shaping the AI architecture and roadmap and getting your work into customers' hands fast. We're looking for a systems thinker who can hold the whole pipeline in their head and still move quickly.

Responsibilities

Design and build AI pipelines - data prep, model orchestration, and inference services - for cost modeling, carbon estimation, and supply-chain analysis
Combine many heterogeneous datasets into structured, reliable product intelligence
Explore, prototype, and validate new techniques to boost accuracy, coverage and speed
Partner with product, sales, and customer teams to turn real-world use cases into solutions
Contribute to a growing stack that blends classical algorithms, LLMs, and domain-specific logic

Qualifications

4+ years building and operating AI systems (LLMs, knowledge graphs, machine learning)
A systems thinker who can understand a complex model end-to-end, reason about downstream impact, and get to work quickly
Comfortable wiring together services, APIs, and orchestration frameworks
Experience across the full AI lifecycle, from data ingestion to continuous delivery and monitoring
A track record of owning models end-to-end - not just one piece - at a rapid pace
Ability to thrive amid ambiguity and take ownership in an early-stage environment
Excellent cross-functional communication
Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Seattle area
Bonus: background in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, or sustainability domains
